CESPEDES THE 2013 ALL STAR HOME RUN DERBY WINNER

The 2013 All Star Home Run Derby was tonight. There were 6 different big league sluggers who went for the title of Home Run Derby King. But there can be only one! And it was not who all the experts thought it would be. Most thought it would be the from winner of the 2012 derby Prince Fielder, he was eliminated in the first round. But the crown came to the West Coast tonight.

The East Coast is can be so bias when it comes to West Coast teams and players. The East Coast does not show any respect to the West. For example when they voted in Derek Jeter to the All Star game and he had not even played the first half due to injury. Also as you look up news stories on on the 2013 Home run Derby the East Coast stories have titles like, "Bryce Harper takes second to Yoenis Cespedes" and instead of pictures of Cespedes, they have pictures of Harper. So to have anybody that can rep the West is great. I was very excited when Yoenis Cespedes was invited to the Home Run Derby.

Cespedes put on a hitting show tonight as he won the derby beating Bryce Harper in the finals. Giving the East Coast a sample of what the A's and the West Coast has to offer. After 3 rounds Cespedes had a total of 32 home runs with 17 home runs in the first round, 6 in the second, and 9 in the final. This is a great thing for not just the West Coast and Cespedes, but also for the Oakland Athletics.
