Another way the showed more of a origin story is showing Clark Kent going around the world doing different jobs. He would stay in different parts of the world saving people and then disappear before people could ask him how he did the things he did. In the comics Clark did this for many years before announcing he was Superman. So I thought it was a pretty good idea to add this to the movie.
Clark finally finds a ship from his home planet that has been there for thousands of years. Once inside, he meets a computer version of his biological father Jor-El from a key he enters in a computer. The key came from the ship he had arrived in. Jor-El fills Clark in on where he is from and how he has his powers. He also tells him that his real name is Kal-El. This is also when he puts on the suit for the first time.
"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders. That’s what this symbol means, hope."- Jor-El
When the ship was activated it sent out a signal. That signal was picked up by General Zod, a Kryptian who was sent to the Phantom Zone along with a few other of his soldiers before Krypton was destroyed. When the planet blew up it freed them from the Phantom Zone. Once they revived the signal, they head to earth with the hopes to turn Earth into a new Krypton. And the only one who can stop them is a man that the people of Earth are afraid of....Superman.
In Man Of Steel they flash back and forth from when Clark was a kid growing up in Smallville. I really like how they did that. Man Of Steel has some great action scenes, some of the best that I have seen in awhile. True fans will have a problem with somethings in the movie. But that is the case of all superhero movies. Over all Man Of Steel is a really good movie for a reboot. If your a superhero fan, its a must see!
