BIOSHOCK STUDIO IRRATIONAL GAMES IS SHUTTING DOWN

After 17 years studio head Ken Levine is shutting down Irrational Games. He is planning on starting a smaller and more entrepreneurial endeavor at Take-Two. He plans on focusing on more narrative-driven games that are released digitally. Sounds like he wants to makes games similar to Telltale Games after there success with The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.

"IF WE'RE LUCKY, WE'LL BUILD SOMETHING HALF AS MEMORABLE AS BIOSHOCK."

MY VIDEO GAMES OF 2012

Last year I did a list for my video games of 2011, and now with 2012 done and over with, I had to do another list. In 2012 I did not get as many games as I did in the previous year, but still got a pretty good amount. Between there not being to many games that came out that I wanted and the fact that money was really tight last year, I got pretty much what I wanted. If you want to read my 2011 list before this one, here is a link to that post- MY VIDEO GAMES OF 2011

Two of my favorite franchises came out with games last year, Silent Hill: Downpour and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Both game were really good. While Downpour was not your normal Silent Hill game, well at least to me anyways, it was still a really good game. Still had some great scares and a good twist at the end. I did think that monsters where not your typical Silent Hill monsters. But I was told that the monsters in Downpour where suppose to be based on the main characters feelings. That would explain what was called "The Void" in other world.

BEST GAME ON THE SUPER NINTENDO..SUPER METROID

Back when I first started my blog I wrote about one of my favorite games, Super Metroid. I went back and read it, and did not think I put enough effort into that post, so I decided to write another one with more info. Having said that, in my opinion Super Metroid was the best game on the Super Nintendo. I know a lot of people will disagree with  me, but as I said before, this in is my opinion. I would like to think that no one would argue that Super Metroid has at least got to be in the top five Super Nintendo games of all time. Super Metroid was released in North America April 18, 1994. Samus Aran is the main character as she was in Metroid her first game for the NES in 1986, and her second game Metroid II: Return Of Samus for the Game Boy in 1992.

Super Metroid starts off right where Metroid II left off. Samus is doing a report on her first two mission. She reports that after a Metroid larva hatches, the first thing it sees is Samus. Being the first thing the Metroid saw, it thought that Samus was it's mother. Samus collects the Metroid and brings it to Ceres Space Colony in hopes that the scientists could learn more about it. Samus leaves the space colony thinking all is well. Shortly after leaving she receive a distress call from Ceres and she head back. This is when you take control of Samus. When you arrive, you find all the scientists dead and the Metroid larva missing. As you search the colony, you find the larva in a back room. As soon as you go for the Larva, Samus's old enemy Radley, the leader of the Space Pirates, appears and grabs the Metroid. After a quick battle Radley flees and Ceres Space Colony goes into a self-destruct mode. You now have to beat the count down and rush back to your ship. Once you get to the ship you escape the colony and follow Radley to the Space Pirate's home planet, the planet Zebes.

MY VIDEO GAMES OF 2011

So I was just looking at all the games I bought and played during 2011. I have a really long list that does not include DLC. Well lets get my MMO's out of the way. Well I am not a MMO guy, but you could not tell that this year. I played three MMO's this year. It started with DC Universe Online. I stopped playing this earlier in the year but returned when it went free to play. This game got me into the MMO world cause, well its about superhero's. Now I am a Marvel guy, but still love some DC. And who does not love Batman and The Flash? I still will go back every once in a wail to play a little here and there. My next MMO was Rift. I saw some videos online and thought I would try it out. Played with some friends for a wail and they where into it a lot more then me and passed me up in level. It was pretty fun but I started to lose interest and did not want to pay for something I was not that into anymore. Even if Rift goes free to play, I really don't see myself going back to it. Now comes the the MMO that really got me hooked, Star Wars:The Old Republic. I am loving this game. I love Star Wars, so it comes natural that I would be into a game that is open world and lets you be a Jedi. Now back to counsel games.

PETA NEEDS TO DUMMY UP!!!!

So let me start off by saying that I don't believe in hurting animals or killing them for there fur or tusk or what have you. I have two dogs and a cat. I don't mind groups like PETA who want to help animals and make sure they are not miss treated. But you got to be kidding me PETA for the fact that you are going after Mario from the Mario Brother games. PETA is going crazy over the Mario Tanooki suit that he wears in the new Mario Bros. game for the 3DS. For anyone who, and I don't know how you can't know, don't know what that is, its a suit that make Mario look like a raccoon and helps him fly and he can take out enemies with his tail. Also for anyone who don't know, a tanooki raccoon is a dog like raccoon that lives in Japan, and they are killed for there fur. And PETA is trying to say, that if Mario is wearing a Tanookie suit that he is supporter of wearing fur and the skinning of the tanooki raccoon. Now having said that you must be thinking,"Does Mario beat down the tanooki raccoon with a monkey wrench and then bust out a hunters knife and skin the thing alive to throw over his body wail it is dripping in blood and as the tanooki raccoon is twitching on the ground in pain?" Well no not at all, even though that is what PETA would like you to believe. Mario uses a leaf, yes folks I said a leaf, that lets him use the suit. And folks, no blood, guts, or bones are seen. There is no skinning of a animal of any kind.
