THE FRUSTRATIONS OF BEING A SPORTS FAN

Being a fan of a sports team can just be down right frustrating. You got your high and low points rooting for your favorite team. When there on top, you fill untouchable, and normally let fans of other teams know that. Them lows, well you want to just tare your hair out. And then there are always the bandwagoner fan....shoot them now!

The highs of having a winning team are the best. Walking around wearing them team colors with out a care in the world. Your team is on top, there is nothing no one can really say to you. And then when your team makes the playoffs or win a championship, that feeling just multiples. Talking some trash to friends are fans of teams that are your teams rivals, nothing beats that.

The lows of your team doing bad is....well, just the pits. With the highs you are the one talking trash, well in the lows, you get all the trash talk put on you and your team. It can be a tough pill to swallow sometime. Its one thing if your team is just in a slump, but when your team is just doing bad year after year, it can be hard to keep your head up. Trust me I know, I am a Raider fan. Its been a hard 12 years.

Then there is my favorite, the bandwagoner! Oh how I hate the bandwagoners! The fan that either don't cheer for there team unless they are doing good, or the fan that starts cheering for a team that is on the top of the mountain. They are also the ones that try to talk a lot of trash about your team, but don't really follow the sport, so they don't know whats going on. They only thing they know is that "There Team" is winning, so that's all that matters. I have even heard them say, "Well my team is the best, whatever happen in my team's history don't matter cause we are winning!" If you like a team, you got to take the good and the bad of there history. We all know someone that is not a true fan, and is just along for the ride as the team is doing good!

In sports, someone who shamelessly cheers for a particular team not because he likes them or follows them faithfully, but only because that particular team is the "popular" choice or has been or is the top team in their specific sport recently. When that team which bandwagoners follow falls from grace, they gleefully jump on the next teams bandwagon and cheer for that team.

Sometime you got to wonder why we put ourselves through the things that we do. I mean there is always the saying,"For the love of the game!". People who don't like sports, who are just weird if you ask me, don't get how a fan can yell at the TV or at the game when there team is doing good or bad. "You know they can't hear you, right?" is the thing we get told the most. Why yes, we know they can't hear us, but its the love and passion we have for our team and the sport, that is why we do it.

That love and passion is what keeps you coming back to support your team, even if they are in last place every year. A true fan is there during the ups and downs, not just when the team is winning with no losing in sight. Still, with all that being said, it can just be flat out frustrating being a sports fan. Either way you can always find me rooting for my team, no matter how bad or how good they are. Even if I get frustrated enough to pull my hair out!
